Memoir of a Citizen & Reporter in the Irving Press

This book is a love letter to the free press. It is my personal memoir as a citizen and reporter which calls for a healthier New Brunswick free press—one that is more diverse, competitive, independent, and feisty.

Wires Crossed takes us through numerous examples of the perils of a wires-crossed relationship, notably in New Brunswick but also to an increasing extent across North America.

As a long-time journalist, provincial government deputy minister, and university teacher, I thrive on public issues, and believe that the free press is critically important and worth talking about. If you are inclined to take part in the debate which my memoir invites, copies are available at:
Westminster Books and Chapters in Fredericton, NB
Indigo-East Point  and Coles-McAllister in Saint John, NB
The Whale Store (La Baleine) in St. Andrews, NB
Tidewater Books in Sackville, NB

Jean Coutu, St. Stephen, N.B.
Chapters in Moncton-Dieppe

A moving and informative set of reminiscences by a seasoned journalist that shines much needed light on the single story that dominates the state of New Brunswick’s media ... Passionately and persuasively written, it is at once testament, indictment, and lament.
